Winter Wonderland

Here in this part of the eastern US, we're close enough to the nation's largest concentration of year-'round hot air, that it's unusual to see snow so early in December. But this morning we had just that – not enough to endanger even the most foolish of drivers, but enough to beautifully enhance the Advent/Christmastide ambiance.
So I stepped out onto the deck, ignoring the baying mastiff next door, and was able to get a shot or two toward a nice panorama… when the batteries gave out. Oh, well; here's one of two photos – and you almost can see that snow's falling.

Yes, those nice pines are just outside our fence; there's a great linear park running for several blocks here, and almost any season it's beautiful.
Followup: and, eventually, a familiar name stopped by and commented:

This time I responded pretty quickly:

Heh-heh; so have I. The formatting options WordPress offered seem to have evaporated, and I can't set postings up the way I want to, so it's been easier of late to ignore the impulse. But, yes, I've got lots to say, and wouldn't mind blowing the dust off the soapbox. We'll see…
